Letter received 19 January 1999:
Mr. Witt,
I thought you would like to see pictures of my
finished Scooter. The plans were followed very closely. Arm rests were left off
the console in order to fish off the side. A bow seat mounts forward but left
it off for the pictures. All solid wood is Douglas fir covered with 3/8 marine.
All inside wood has two coats of epoxy. The outside is completely covered with
fiberglass with all seams covered with 6" tape first. All fasteners are
bronze and stainless. The deck hatches are for both storage and ventilation.
The little boat runs out nicely and does what it is supposed to do.
