Squirt

My 1983 Squirt 7 May 2005

Dear Sirs,
I noticed this Glen L Squirt on the side of a country road in Texas. The original owner had done a fantastic job back in 1983, but somewhere along the line the boat suffered from a little neglect. It needed some cosmetic work and paint but was basically sound. It was also grossly overloaded with a battery, large fuel tank and very large bilge pump (apparently it was necessary - water over the transom when one slowed) in the stern. I replaced the Mercury 25 with an older Evinrude 15. It also had a pair of heavy fiberglass bucket seats which I replaced with plywood and foam covered vinyl. I estimate that I pulled 75 pounds out of the little boat. I used saturating epoxy to cure the plywood delaminating problem as well as firm up the transom. I'm very happy with the end result. The only negative feedback was from my three year old daughter who asked why her boat wasn't pink!
