Missile by John Galea, Melbourne, Australia

May 11, 2009

I have just completed my version of the Missile. It has only taken me six years to complete, due to family commitments and moving houses a couple of times. I thought I might show you some recent pictures which I hope you like.

Construction wise, timbers used were Hoop Pine for the Frame, Caboon Marine Ply for the exterior. Olive Ash and Teak Timber Veneer were used for deck, sides and trasom.

Engine used is a small block 350 Chev, running 650 Holley double pumper, under that is a Victor Jnr manifold with port and polish head work. Connect to the Chev is a soft clutch, running to an argo V drive which has 11% over-drive.

At this stage engine engine is still being run-in, expecting 70-80 miles per/hour on a good day.

Boat was first launched on the 22nd of December, 2008 at Hazelwood Pondage, Victoria. Australia.

Happy Boating!
