Fig 4: The planking is cut to shape with an overhang of about 1/4" for trimming after gluing and fastening in place. The panel is faired at the stem to allow the second side to lap the first.


Fig 5: After application of the first side, the second side is applied in a similar manner, overlapping the first panel at the stem. The overhang along the chine must be faired to enable the bottom planking to mate firmly or lie flat on all contact areas.


Fig 6: The battens are glued and fastened in place, anchoring permanently at the transom and seat frame.
