Photos six and seven - At this point the plywood side and bottom planking has been "screwed and glued (epoxied)" to the frames. Excesses have been trimmed, screw holes have been filled with epoxy putty, and the entire hull has been lightly sanded. The hull is now ready for an outer cover of fiberglass cloth.

Photo eight - "Industrial strength" fiberglass cloth is laid over the hull and rough trimmed to shape. The nearest fiberglass cloth and resin was a five-hour bus ride away in Manila. The heavy cloth fabric is the type used to cover tanks and I had my doubts about whether we could wet it out with the resin or not. We had to make do with what we had and it ended up working out just fine. It was the first time these local boat builders had worked with fiberglass and they were excited with the results.
