Whitehall by Brian McGowan

Attached are some of the photos to date of my Whitehall. The timber colour change in the planking is because I read that scarfing could weaken the construction and this was the only timber I could lay my hands on that was straight and clear to add stiffness. I then attempted to colour them, but have since decided to paint the hull. Otherwise it is all Douglas-fir bought on E/bay and had to be scarfed to length. The construction area to accommodate the activity is a re-built carport at the backend of our home about 8m x 6m so we share with all the storage and tools etc. Still a long way to go.

Cheers,
Brian McGowan. Melbourne. Australia.
