Building the Alpha 2 by Robert Sanson - 1

Centerboard first. Lead poured into depression and filled with epoxy.

Steam bending rig. 20 feet of metal downspout. Duct taped joints. Turkey cooker and plastic hosing deliver the steam. I added 3 inch screws every foot or so to elevate the chine and keep it from sitting on the bottom of the downspout. About 75 minutes of steaming and the chines were flexible enough to wrap around the form. I wrapped everything in tinfoil to preserve the heat.

Setting up the transom

Transom all ready for epoxy and screws

Transom frame well secured and fair. I add the solid wood transom later.
